Emotional well-being in adolescents in educational contexts

Abstract

Emotional well-being in education is beneficial in the management of emotions, the construction of healthy relationships and in facing challenges at school and personal level. For this reason, a systematic review of current studies is carried out that allow us to understand how educational institutions protect and promote mental health. For this reason, its objective was focused on establishing a general vision around emotional well-being in teachers in educational contexts. Regarding the methodology, research between 2019 and 2024 was taken into account to analyze the situation in relation to the subject. It was found that stress, lack of emotional regulation, family difficulties and the use of social networks have negative effects on the mental health of young people, both in adolescence and in the university environment. Likewise, the importance of family and social contexts to prevent emotional disorders such as anxiety and depression. In conclusion, it is necessary to intervene in those to strengthen emotional skills and promote better mental health, especially through emotional education programs.
