Analysis of Competitiveness and Knowledge Management in manufacturing SMEs: A Study Case in Querétaro

Abstract

Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs) play a fundamental role in the economy of Mexico, however, they face serious competitiveness problems. Therefore, the present research aims to contribute to the knowledge of "SME Competitiveness", and to test the hypothesis that "Knowledge Management processes have a positive impact on Competitiveness".

The study analyzes the relationship between knowledge management processes and the generation of competitive advantages, for which the research is based on the Resource and Capability Theory and the Knowledge Management Theory. Due to its importance, the manufacturing sector was selected, and for convenience, the study is confined to the cities of Pachuca de Soto and Santiago de Querétaro. This article describes the results of the case study of the company with the highest competitiveness index.
